DJPC-CFIR Skill Share: How you can help end unjust immigration enforcement in Colorado We hope you can join us! When: Tuesday, February 17, 2015 5:00-7:00 PM Where: AFSC’s office 901 W. 14th Ave. Suite 7 Denver 80204 The Denver Justice & Peace Committee is co-sponsoring this month’s skill share!
For the past five years immigrants and allies have been strategically pushing back on unjust enforcement in the state of Colorado. Over the past few years we have had some important victories- over turning Colorado’s show me your papers law, winning drivers’ licenses for undocumented immigrants and getting Colorado sheriffs across the state do not honor ICE holds. This year the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition with immigrant partners is building on those victories to further break the connection between local law enforcement and immigration that leads to families and communities being torn apart. Come learn about how immigration enforcement works, our ending unjust enforcement strategy, messaging and how you can support this year’s state legislation to further disconnect local law enforcement and ICE. Additionally, we will have members of the immigrant community share next steps on pushing back on the Republicans defunding of drivers licenses for all. Your participation will help move Colorado to a better place!
Brendan Greene from CIRC and a representative of Licencias Para Todos will join AFSC and DJPC in this discussion.
Snacks will be provided.
