Thanks for the Holiday Potluck!

Thanks to all who helped make DJPC’s Holiday Potluck so much fun last Saturday, December 1st.

Special thanks to hosts Gabriela, Jim and Lily for welcoming us to their delightful home!

And for those who missed the party, great food and good cheer, here are the lyrics to the two

holiday songs we sang:

WE WISH ALL COULD LIVE IN JUSTICE

(to the tune of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”)

We wish all could live in justice,

with peace everywhere among us.

So hop on the J and P bus,

There’s room for all here.

You can’t stop a justice movement,

if fear doesn’t kill your mood, friend,

Together we make improvements,

So be of good cheer!

At times our work seems so little,

the peace accords, oh so brittle,

Our efforts will have to triple,

To win more next year!

WE UNITE TO SAVE MOTHER EARTH

(to the tune of Santa Clause Is Coming to Town”)

Oh, they better watch out,

when we give our cry,

we’re starting to shout,

we’re telling them why:

greedy gold-mines poison the earth.

The people don’t know

The mine owns their land,

Their government stole it out of their hands,

Greedy gold-mines poison the earth.

But people are uniting

Also D-J-P-C,

We stand for earth- and human rights.

And we’ll stop their crimes, you’ll see!

So, they better watch out!

They wanna know why?

‘Cause greedy gold louts

Will now say good-bye,

We unite to save Mother Earth.
