Join us today for our weekly vigil outside the GEO Detention Center. We continue demanding the closure of for profit prisons that separate our families. We keep shouting out for the liberation of our immigrant sisters and brothers, and our compañera in struggle Jeanette Vizguerra who has been nominated to the 42nd annual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award, Jeanette was selected for her moral courage and willingness to act on her convictions—even at great personal risk.

Today’s vigil will be hosted by the Denver Justice and Peace Committee (DJPC), Center for Immigration Policy and Research (CIPR), Romero Theater Troupe, Colorado Labor Education Collaborative (CO Labor ED Collab), and Denver Alliance for Street Health Response (DASHR).
On March 17th, ICE abducted prominent Colorado immigrant rights activist Jeanette Vizguerra. She has been detained at the GEO ICE detention center in Aurora for months. This is a blatant case of political persecution – ICE does not have a valid deportation order, and her detention is unlawful. The people of Colorado know Jeanette is being unjustly targeted for her activism!
