Through our Award we are recognizing his dedicated support to indigenous communities within the U.S. colonial frontier. In particular, his commitment to the Anishinaabe people’s struggle against Line 3, the fight to protect the Weelaunee Forest, and his support of the Black Mesa Indian Elders.
We will also honor Elliot Williams with the John Proctor Organizer Award, for a decade of service on our board of directors, and his work to advance immigrant and workers rights, clean energy, reproductive justice, fiscal policy and educational equity in the State of Colorado.
