Come celebrate our Annual Awards Night! We are hosting a silent auction. You can start bidding now!
During the event, we will present our annual Global Justice and Peace Award to the Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras – COPINH an Honduran organization founded by indigenous Lenca feminist leader and environmental defender, Berta Cáceres, who was killed four years ago for her struggle against the construction of the Agua Zarca dam project on the sacreate waters of the Gualcarque River.
Betha Zúniga, daughter of Berta, and current coordinator of COPINH will be our keynote speaker. We will also be recognizing the work of Isa Villalon and Ruby Tedeschi, two local organizers dedicated to human rights.
The event will feature music by Adolfo Romero, and poetry from both Lu Aya of the Peace Poets and Melissa Cardoza, a Honduran poet.
The event is free, and all are welcome!
If you are able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 to educate and advocate for human rights in Latin America. Our suggested donation for the event is $20.
