We have installed an Altar as part of the commemorations of the Day of the Dead. You can visit the altar at <span class=\"st\">The <em>Chicano Humanities and Arts Council<\/em> (<em>CHAC<\/em>) &#8211; 772 Santa Fe Drive in Denver.(Please check CHAC for opening hours)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>DJPC is working in partnership with two other groups to create awareness on human rights issues facing indigenous communities in Guatemala. The Center for Human Righ<a href=\"http:\/\/denjustpeace.org\/2017\/10\/defending-truth-and-memory-the-path-towards-justice\/altar-chac-maiz\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5702\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5702 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/denjustpeace.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Altar-CHAC-maiz-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>ts Legal Action (CALDH) and the Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA) bring the photo exhibit \u201cDefending Truth and Memory: The Path Towards Justice\u201d to Denver. The theme of the photo exhibit is the struggle for indigenous people to hold the Guatemalan government accountable for atrocities committed during the genocide and internal war. The photo exhibit shows political and legal actions led by indigenous organizations, exhumations of people massacred, and burial ceremonies in honor of the victims and their families.<\/p>\n<p>During the month of October we are remembering all the victims of the Guatemalan genocide. People currently living in Denver have family members that were killed in Guatemala by the military dictatorships.
