Come celebrate with DJPC at our annual Awards Night! We will be honoring the work of COPINH and hosting our silent auction.

During the event, we will present our annual Global Justice and Peace Award to the Consejo Cíivico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras – COPINH an Honduran organization founded by indigenous Lenca feminist leader and environmental defender, Berta Caceres, who was killed 4 years ago for her struggle against the construction of the Agua Zarca dam project. COPINH has continued her legacy, demanding justice for Berta in the legal system at the same time that they continue organizing against the dam. We will also be recognizing the work of Isa Villalon and Ruby Tedeschi, two local organizers dedicated to human rights.

The event will feature music by Adolfo Romero, and poetry from both Lu Aya of the Peace Poets and Melissa Cardoza, a Honduran poet.

The event is free and all are welcome!

If you are able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 to educate and advocate for human rights in Latin America. Our suggested donation for the event is $20.
